... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 3 am Monday to 6 am CST Tuesday...
The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a Winter Weather Advisory that remains in effect from 3 am Monday to 6 am Tuesday for snow.
* Timing: starting late tonight or very early Monday morning and persisting through Monday night.
* Main impact: a heavy wet snow is expected due to the relatively warm and moist air wrapping into the system. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are expected at this time. However localized areas exceeding 5 inches are possible across far northwest Missouri.
* Other impacts: warm roads may initially limit accumulation on Road surfaces but snowfall rates may be high enough to overwhelm those relatively warmer Road surfaces. Heavier snow amounts are more likely on elevated and grassy surfaces.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
