Statement as of 1:20 PM CDT on May 30, 2015

The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
eastern Shannon County in south central Missouri...
Oregon County in south central Missouri...
southeastern Howell County in south central Missouri...

* until 900 PM CDT.

* At 110 PM CDT... the Department of Transportation indicates that
there are flooded low water crossings in the warning area.
Rainfall from this morning has caused some flooding in the region.
Highway h along Rocky Creek in eastern Shannon County and Highway
a along Fredrick creek in Oregon County have been closed due to
flooding. Light rainfall will diminish over the area early this
afternoon but some residual flooding will continue this afternoon
and this evening. This warning upgrades the advisory that was
already in effect.

* Runoff from this rain is causing flooding. Locations in the warning
include... Alton... Birch Tree... Eminence... Grand Gulf State Park...
Thayer and Winona. Creeks... streams and low water crossings will be
especially susceptible to the dangers of flooding.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected.
However... all interested parties should take necessary precautions
immediately.

Most flood related deaths occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to
cross water covered bridges... dips... or low water crossings. Never
try to cross a flowing stream... even a small one... on foot or in a
vehicle.

Statement as of 10:31 AM CDT on May 30, 2015

The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
Oregon County in south central Missouri...
Shannon County in south central Missouri...
southern Howell County in south central Missouri...

* until 600 PM CDT Saturday.

* At 1023 am CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar
indicated heavy rainfall across the advisory area. Radar
indicates that over an inch of rain has fallen in some areas this
morning with another half inch to an inch possible through 1 PM
over parts of Shannon and Oregon counties.

* Runoff from this heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding.
Locations in the advisory include... Alton... Birch Tree... Current
River State Park... Eminence... Grand Gulf State Park... Thayer and
Winona. Creeks... streams and low water crossings will be especially
susceptible to the dangers of flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
