... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 1 PM this
afternoon to 7 PM CDT Sunday...
A Winter Weather Advisory freezing rain and sleet remains in
effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 7 PM CDT Sunday.
* Short term trends... rain will continue to increase this morning
across central and southwest Missouri while temperatures slowly
fall into the lower and middle 30s. Areas of freezing rain and
sleet may develop west of a Cassville... to Bolivar... to
Versailles line by noon.
* Timing and areas affected... rain will change to freezing rain
and sleet across much of the advisory area this afternoon
generally along and west of a Galena... to Springfield to Lake of
The Ozarks line. Freezing rain and sleet will then continue into
Sunday before diminishing later Sunday. Precipitation will may
be switch to rain at times.
* Sleet accumulations... minor sleet accumulations up to two tenths
of an inch are expected.
* Ice accumulations... minor ice accumulations up to two tenths or
less of an inch are expected. Most of the ice accumulation will
occur on elevated surfaces such as trees and power lines.
Bridges and overpasses may also experience some ice
accumulation.
* Impacts... travel conditions will deteriorate later today and especially
from tonight into Sunday morning across southwest and central
Missouri. Road conditions will likely become highly
variable... with the bulk of ice and sleet accumulation occurring
on bridges and overpasses. This wintry mix of precipitation will
impact highways 54... 60... 65... and 160 as well as portions of
Interstate 44.

weather will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery
roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
