Winter Storm Watch
Statement as of 7:33 AM CST on March 03, 2015

... Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Wednesday morning
through Wednesday evening...

* timing... a wintry mix of freezing rain... sleet... and snow is
expected to develop Wednesday morning and transition to all
snow by Wednesday afternoon and continue into the evening.
Snow may be heavy at times Wednesday afternoon and evening.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 3 to 6 inches... along
with a light glazing of ice.

* Winds... north 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

* Impacts... the wintry precipitation will likely result in
hazardous travel conditions... especially on bridges...
overpasses... and untreated roads. Parking lots and sidewalks
will become slippery as well.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Watch is advanced notice that severe winter
weather is possible in the watch area... it does not mean it is a
certainty. Those in the watch area should begin preparing in case
the storm does materialize. If you have travel planned... you may
want to adjust your travel time to avoid the storm. Also... you
should use this advanced notice to make certain your vehicle is
winterized. Make preparations at home by stocking emergency
supplies... such as food... medicine... and extra heating fuel...
just in case the storm makes travel impossible. This is
especially important for those living in rural areas.
