An isolated embedded rumble of thunder or two cannot be completely ruled out near the Missouri Arkansas border. The rain will generally remain along and north of a West Plains to Eminence line and south of a Joplin to Versailles line through 11 PM this evening. Rainfall amounts will generally remain below a quarter of an inch...with isolated heavier amounts of up to three quarters of an inch possible with the heavier showers and any thunderstorm activity through 11 PM.

* Through Monday morning
* a prolonged period of moderate and locally heavy rainfall is occurring over parts of western... southwestern... and central Missouri and southeast Kansas this afternoon. Widespread rainfall in excess of an inch has occurred northwest of a line from Joplin to Buffalo to Tuscumbia since late last night. Moderate to heavy rainfall will gradually spread south and east into the rest of the Missouri Ozarks this evening and tonight. Another one to two inches of rainfall will be possible through tonight with locally higher amounts where training thunderstorms occur.
* Many low water crossings will be impacted by heavy rain through midday Monday. Smaller creeks and streams may also experience flooding. Large rivers in the Osage river basin may also experience flooding over the next couple of days.
