Areal Flood Warning
Statement as of 9:50 PM CST on November 15, 2009
... The Flood Warning remains in effect until 900 am CST Monday for
small streams in Benton... Camden... Hickory... Miller... Morgan...
northeastern Polk... northern Dallas and northwestern Laclede
counties...
The Department of Transportation and local law enforcement officials
indicated that heavy rainfall that occur Sunday afternoon and
evening was continuing to produce flooding across the warned area.
One to three inches of rainfall with locally heavier amounts
occurred across the area. Additional light to moderate rainfall will
continue to be possible into Monday morning.
Runoff from this rain is causing flooding. Creeks... streams and low
water crossings will be especially susceptible to the dangers of
flooding.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. If flooding is observed act quickly. Do not
enter the water. Turn around and move up to higher ground to escape
flood waters. Do not stay in areas subject to flooding when water
begins rising.
