... Flash Flood Watch in effect from 7 PM CDT this evening through
Friday morning...
The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for portions of central Missouri... north
central Missouri... northeast Missouri and northwest Missouri...
including the following areas... in central Missouri... Howard
and Saline. In north central Missouri... Carroll... Chariton...
Daviess... Grundy... Harrison... Linn MO... Livingston... Macon...
Mercer... Putnam... Randolph and Sullivan. In northeast
Missouri... Adair and Schuyler. In northwest Missouri...
Gentry... Nodaway and Worth.
* From 7 PM CDT this evening through Friday morning
* a complex of showers and thunderstorms is expected to develop this
evening over southwest Iowa and into northern Missouri. As the
evening progresses... this complex of storms is expected to
intensify and produce heavy rainfall across northern into north
central Missouri. One to two inches of rain... with isolated higher
amounts will be possible over the same area that has and continues
to experience flooding from heavy rainfall early on Thursday. This
additional heavy rainfall will pose a threat for flash flooding
where water levels are already running high.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions are favorable for heavy
rain across the watch area... which may lead to flash flooding. If
you are in the watch area... check your preparedness
requirements... especially if you have interests along area
rivers. Keep informed... and be ready for action if flooding is
observed or if a Flash Flood Warning is issued.
