Wednesday...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow... freezing rain and sleet remains in
effect until 6 am CST Wednesday.

* A mixture of snow... freezing rain and sleet will transition back to
all snow this evening. This transition will occur from west to east
as colder air works into the system. Once this transition occurs
moderate to at times heavy snow is expected tonight through early
Wednesday morning.

* This wintry mixture will limit overall accumulations but 3 to 6
inches of snow are expected from generally Leavenworth to Macon
with the highest amount across the northern portions of the warning
area. Minor amounts of ice accumulation are expected through this
evening and should occur primarily on elevated surfaces.

* In addition to heavy snow... significant blowing and drifting snow
is expected late tonight into Wednesday... as strong northerly winds
of 25 to 35 mph overspread the region. The blowing snow will
greatly reduce visibilities... creating even more dangerous driving
conditions. Temperatures will fall through the teens into the
single digits Wednesday night with bitterly cold wind chill
readings below zero.

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow... freezing rain and sleet
means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring.
Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel
dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel... keep
an extra flashlight... food... and water in your vehicle in case
of an emergency.
