Weather Summary
Weather Underground Forecast for Monday, February 13, 2012.

The trough of low pressure that brought unsettled weather to the West on Sunday will advance into the Plains on Monday with more mixed precipitation. The trough will support a low and associated warm front moving eastward into the Southern Plains. As the system progresses, rain showers with periods of heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms will spread from parts of central/eastern Texas into western Louisiana, mixed precipitation will develop in parts of Oklahoma and Arkansas, and snow will blanket parts of the Central Plains, Mid-Mississippi Valley, and parts of the western Ohio Valley. Areas from eastern Texas through Arkansas should expect the heaviest precipitation totals. Heightened winter weather conditions will allow Winter Weather Advisories and a few Winter Storm Warnings to remain in effect through the day. Elsewhere east of the Continental Divide, lake-effect snow showers will continue along parts of the Lower Great Lakes Snowbelt.

In the West, a Pacific cold front pushing across the Pacific Northwest will drop southward across northern California, bringing coastal and valley rain and significant snowfall to the Sierra Nevadas.

Winter Weather Advisory
Mobile & Email Alerts Statement as of 4:55 AM CST on February 13, 2012

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until midnight CST
tonight...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and freezing drizzle remains in
effect until midnight CST tonight.

* Location... central to north central and northeast Missouri.

* Timing... light snow will begin to fall east of the Highway 65
corridor through 7 am. The steadiest accumulating snowfall will occur
between 6 and 10 am. By this afternoon... the snow will
diminish in intensity and may become mixed with freezing drizzle.

* Total snow accumulations... from 1 to 2 inches are expected
across the region... primarily this morning. Additional
accumulations of snow or freezing drizzle after 1 PM should be
generally light.

* Impacts... travel will become impacted by daybreak and may be
difficult this morning with accumulating snow. For the evening
hours... any additional light snow... or any freezing drizzle...
will continue to make travel difficult.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow and freezing
drizzle will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for
snow and ice covered roads and limited visibilities... and use
caution while driving.
