Showers and thunderstorms continue to move southeast across portions of the quad state area. Much of the precipitation was located across southern Illinois into southeast Missouri...moving southeast at nearly 30 mph...with showers and storms redeveloping behind the main area. These storms have a history of producing torrential rains...with upwards 1 to 1.5 inches of rainfall per hour. Through 10 am...communities that may be affected by the heavier storms include New Madrid Missouri...Paducah and the Land Between The Lakes recreational area in Kentucky...Benton...Harrisburg and the Rend Lake recreational area in Illinois.
