A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 am CST
Wednesday.

* For areas along and southeast of a Kansas City to Marshall to
Moberly line... a mixture of light snow... freezing drizzle or rain
and sleet is possible through this evening. Little if any
accumulation is expected with this activity. However as the main
storm system approaches later this evening a transition to snow is
expected. As the storm moves east during the overnight hours... a
burst of snow is possible. 1 to 4 inches of snow is possible across
the advisory area by Wednesday morning when any snow will taper to
flurries. The heaviest snow amounts will be confined to northern
portions of the advisory area.

* Along and south of the Missouri River... the greatest impact will
likely be slick spots on area roadways... due to patchy freezing
drizzle or rain... snow and sleet through the early evening hours.
With temperatures around freezing no significant icing
accumulations are expected on roadways. Minor accumulations around
a tenth of an inch are possible on mainly elevated surfaces. The
snow this evening may be moderate to at times heavy... creating
slick roads and reduced visibility.

* After the transition back to snow... blowing snow and bitterly
cold wind chills are expected late tonight into Wednesday... as
strong northerly winds of 25 to 35 mph overspread the region.
The blowing snow may greatly reduce visibilities... creating
even more dangerous driving conditions. Temperatures will fall
through the teens into the single digits Wednesday night with
wind chill readings below zero.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory snow... freezing rain and sleet means
that periods of snow... sleet... or a wintry mix will cause travel
difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited
visibilities... and use caution while driving.
