Areas of dense fog will be scattered across parts of central and eastern Missouri and southern Illinois early this morning. Most of the fog will be occurring along and south of Interstate 70...and primarily in river valleys and other low lying areas. Due to the patchy nature of the dense fog visibilities will change rapidly over a very short distance... so early morning motorists should remain alert for these drastic changes in visibility. Conditions are expected to improve rapidly between 7 am and 9 am.
