... Wind Advisory in effect from 7 PM this evening to 1 am CDT
The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill has
issued a Wind Advisory... which is in effect from 7 PM this
evening to 1 am CDT Wednesday.
* Timing: a very strong cold front will advance toward St. Joseph and
Kansas City early this evening... reaching I-70 by 7 PM. Winds will
abruptly shift into the northeast... with temperatures falling
rapidly. Strong and gusty north winds are expected between 7 PM and
1 am before subsiding slightly Wednesday morning.
* Winds: sustained northeast winds will become north at 25 to 30 mph
early this evening... with gusts to near 45 mph likely. Strong winds
will continue through 1 am... before diminishing slightly Wednesday
* Impacts: winds of this magnitude can make driving extremely
difficult on east-west roadways... especially for high profile
vehicles. In addition... where rain changes to snow across north
central Missouri... these winds will reduce visibilities to near
zero at times later this evening.
A Wind Advisory means that winds of at least 30 mph are expected
with gusts to 45 mph. Winds this strong can make driving
difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Also... take
