Characterized Kansas City Weather In August...

The average temperature at the Kansas City International Airport was
74.5 degrees, which was 2.6 degrees below normal. The average high
temperature was 84.5 degrees, or 2.9 degrees below normal. The
average low temperature was 64.5 degrees which was 2.3 degrees below
normal. The highest temperature for the month was 91 degrees on the
1st and the 7th. The lowest temperature was 50 degrees on the 24th.
This August was tied for 20th coolest over the 128-year record for
Kansas City.

Precipitation came in at 0.98 inches for the month, or 2.91 inches
below normal. The greatest total in a 24 hour period was 0.62 inches
on the 18th. This was the 14th driest August over the 128-year
period of record for Kansas City.
