... Blizzard Warning remains in effect until midnight CST Wednesday night...
A Blizzard Warning remains in effect until midnight CST Wednesday night.
Snow intensity will increase into the evening hours with accumulations of four to five inches in south central Minnesota. After 9 PM... snow intensity will increase again with periods of heavy snow expected in southern Minnesota.
The snow will continue through Wednesday afternoon. Storm total snowfall amounts of seven to ten inches are likely by Wednesday afternoon.
Increasing winds tonight will result in considerable blowing and drifting snow and will produce blizzard conditions... primarily after 9 PM. This includes along Interstate 90 and Interstate 35 south of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Northwest winds at 35 to 40 mph could gust as high as 50 mph Wednesday morning. The winds will keep blowing and drifting snow many hours after the snowfall ends.
A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions... making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If you must travel... have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded... stay with your vehicle.
