Wind Chill Advisory
Statement as of 2:20 PM CST on December 08, 2009
... Wind Chill Advisory in effect from midnight tonight to noon
CST Wednesday...
The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has issued a Wind
Chill Advisory... which is in effect from midnight tonight to noon
CST Wednesday.
* Timing: midnight tonight to noon CST Wednesday
* wind chill values: 25 below to 30 below zero
* other impacts: the coldest wind chill readings should occur
around the Wednesday morning rush. Make sure children are
dressed appropriately for these cold temperatures.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and winds will
combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in frost
bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If
you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear appropriate
clothing... including hat and gloves.
