A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until midnight CST
Wednesday night.

Snow will gradually increase in intensity through the afternoon.
Accumulations of one to three inches are forecast by 6 PM this
evening... with the highest amounts in south central Minnesota.
Winds are expected to slowly increase through this afternoon but
remain low enough that blowing snow is not anticipated through
early evening.

The snow will be most intense tonight... especially after 9 PM. The
snow will persist through early Wednesday afternoon... primarily
across the warning areas. Periods of heavy snow are expected. The
heaviest snow is expected south and east of a St. James to the
southern and eastern suburbs of the Twin Cities... to a Rice Lake
Wisconsin line. In these areas... storm total snowfall
amounts of eight inches or more are likely by Wednesday afternoon.
Scattered amounts near one foot are possible in the Eau Claire
area. Across the remainder of the warning area... six to eight
inches are expected.

Increasing winds tonight will result in blowing and drifting snow.
Near-blizzard conditions are possible from Redwood Falls eastward
towards Red Wing. The blowing snow will continue Wednesday
afternoon even after the snowfall stops.

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food...
and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
