Dickinson County in northwest Iowa northeastern O'Brien County in northwest Iowa northern Clay County in northwest Iowa Osceola County in northwest Iowa southeastern Nobles County in southwest Minnesota southern Jackson County in southwest Minnesota * until noon CDT Friday * at 1158 PM CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar estimates and numerous reports of heavy rainfall from 2 to 4 inches across the area this evening has resulted in ongoing ponding and flooding of low lying areas. While thunderstorms have become more scattered late evening... additional storms are expected to develop between midnight and 2 am which will bring potential for locally an inch or two rainfall the remainder of the night... which will prolong the slow drainage effects from the heavy rainfall. * Rainfall had created flooding of a Railroad underpass along Highway 59 and 60 in Worthington... with reported ponding across much of Dickinson County. Precautionary/preparedness actions... Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. If flash flooding is observed act quickly. Do not enter the water.
