PM CDT Monday...
At 1237 PM CDT... emergency management and local law enforcement
continued to report areal flooding... with multiple reports of ice
jams resulting in flooded roads. Numerous County and township
roads remain closed. Conditions are generally improving and
water levels on the smaller streams are beginning to recede... but
additional drainage is expected and the potential for more ice jams
remains. In addition... flood warnings remain in effect for the
larger rivers across the area... which continue to rise. Information
on those warnings can be found in separate flood statements.
In addition to rural areas... some other locations that may
experience flooding include New Ulm... St James... Blue Earth... New
Richland... Springfield... Henderson... Mapleton... Waseca...
Janesville... New Germany... Winnebago... Watertown and Mayer.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Runoff from snow melt and ice jams will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... country roads... as well as farmland along the
banks of creeks and streams.
To report flooding... have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
your report to the National Weather Service forecast office in the
Twin Cities.

the South Fork Crow River below Mayer.
* At 11:00 am Friday the stage was 16.5 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 16.5 feet by this
afternoon... then slowly falling thereafter. Additional rises may be possible.
* Impact... at 16.5 feet... water encroaching on State Highway 25
between State Highway 7 and Carver County Road 122.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 16.5 feet
on Apr 14 2001.

the Minnesota river at Shakopee.
* Flood stage is 708.0 feet.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 717.4
feet on Apr 29 2001.
* Forecast... continue to remain above flood stage today... and continue
to rise to near 717.3 feet by early Tuesday afternoon on March 23rd.
Additional rises are possible.

the Minnesota river near Jordan.
* At 11:00 am Friday the stage was 28.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 31.1 feet by
Monday afternoon March 22nd... then begin falling.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 32.2 feet
on Apr 29 2001.
