Special Statement

...Slick roads overnight from drizzle and freezing drizzle...

Patchy freezing drizzle and even a bit of light freezing rain will continue for a few hours this evening in eastern North Dakota as well as west central and northwest Minnesota. The precipitation is expected to be light and not last very long as drier air comes down from the northwest. However...the drier air is also colder and temperatures have been falling below freezing in northeastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. The colder temperatures will continue to spread south throughout the night...and will be well below the freezing mark by early morning. Patchy freezing drizzle is already causing untreated surfaces to become slippery. Even at locations that see drizzle stop before temperatures drop...there will be enough moisture on the roads to create patchy slick spots. Motorists should use caution overnight.
