... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 9 am CST this
* location... northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin.
* Timing... tonight through 9 am Friday.
* Snow/ice accumulations... mainly light snow mixed at times with
some freezing drizzle will occur this morning north of Highway 2
in Minnesota with minimal additional accumulation. A band of
heavier freezing rain... possibly mixed with sleet stretched from
near Clam Lake to Drummond and Hayward to Hinckley to just south
of Brainerd as of 325 am. This band will move east this
morning... affecting northern Wisconsin and Pine County in
Minnesota the longest. Ice accumulation around a tenth of an
inch is likely in this band. Present indications are that most
of the significant precipitation will diminish by 9 am.
* Impacts... freezing rain and sleet will make for hazardous
travel in spots... especially south of Highway 2 and over much of
northern Wisconsin. Pine County sheriff reported icy roads from
Hinckley on north.
A Winter Weather Advisory for mixed precipitation means a mixture
of freezing rain... snow and sleet is expected. Small
accumulations of snow and ice are expected on untreated roads and
sidewalks. Anyone with travel plans should be prepared for
