... Wind Chill Advisory in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to 4 am
The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a Wind Chill
Advisory... which is in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to 4 am
* Location... the Iron Range and arrowhead of Minnesota up toward
* Wind chill values... expect wind chills of 25 to 40 below zero to
develop late this afternoon into the evening.
* Winds... west 8 to 14 mph this afternoon becoming southwest 4 to
8 mph tonight.
* Frostbite time... as short as 15 minutes on exposed skin.
A Wind Chill Advisory means the combination of very cold air and
wind will combine to generate low wind chills. If precautions are
not taken... this will result in frost bite and lead to
hypothermia. If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear a
hat and gloves... and minimize exposed skin.
