Statement as of 4:03 AM EST on December 16, 2009 ... Lake effect Snow Advisory remains in effect until 10 am EST this morning... A lake effect Snow Advisory remains in effect until 10 am EST this morning. * Expect lake effect snow showers to affect areas mainly east of Deerton through this morning. * Look for an additional 2 to 5 inches of snow through this morning across areas east of Deerton... with the greater amounts most likely at Grand Marais... Two Heart... and Pine Stump Junction. Any snowfall west of Munising will be less than one inch. * The main impacts will be snow covered... slippery roads and limited visibilities in the heavier snow showers. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A lake effect Snow Advisory Means Lake-effect snow is forecast that will make travel difficult in some areas. Lake-effect snow showers typically align themselves in bands and will likely be intense enough to drop several inches in localized areas. Use caution when traveling.
