Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 9:16 AM EST Feb. 12, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 am EST
Saturday...

* lake effect snow will continue through tonight in areas
primarily west of Interstate 75.

* The heaviest snowfall rates will occur before 1 PM today.

* Daytime snow accumulations today accumulations of 1 to 5
inches... with the highest amounts in western Chippewa and
Mackinac counties.

* Look for periods of very poor visibility.

* Wind chills will be as cold as 30 below zero tonight... with the
coldest readings in the St Marys River valley.

* Plan on slippery Road conditions... including during the
morning commute. The cold wind chills will cause frostbite in
as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
For the latest Road conditions... go to the mdot website at
Michigan.Gov.

Extreme wind chills may result in frost bite and lead to
hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If you must venture
outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and gloves.
