	Lakeshore Flood Statement
Statement as of 4:57 PM EDT on July 11, 2009 With gusty northwest winds up to 25 mph and waves up to 4 feet... there will be a moderate risk of rip currents along Marquette County beaches through early this evening. Expect the greatest risk over far northern Marquette County near Big Bay and from Harvey to Shot Point as those areas are most exposed to a west to northwest wind. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A moderate risk of rip currents means that wind and/or wave conditions support stronger or more frequent rip currents. Only experienced surf swimmers should enter the water.

07/10/2009 0940 PM Marquette, Marquette County. Thunderstorm wind damage, reported by Fire Dept/Rescue. 8 to 9 trees snapped off in all directions in a city block along longyear Avenue. Wind gust lasted about 10 seconds with the heavy rain. 07/10/2009 0530 am 5 miles WSW of National min, Marquette County. Hail m0.50 inch, reported by trained spotter. Old report. Observer reported 1/2 inch of rain, dime sized hail, and frequent cloud to ground lightning between 500 and 530 am this morning.
