A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1 PM EST
Wednesday.
Hazardous weather...
* 6 to 10 inches of snow is expected through mid day Wednesday.
* The heaviest snow is expected toward the Interstate 94 corridor
where 8 to 10 inches of snow is expected. The Interstate 96
corridor will see 7 to 9 inches of snow... which includes Grand
Rapids and Lansing.
* Snow will continue morning and become heavy at times this
afternoon and evening.
* Blowing and drifting snow is expected tonight and Wednesday as
north winds increase to 15 to 30 mph.
Impacts...
* the heavy snow will significantly reduce visibility and result
in snow covered and slippery roads. The evening commute home
will be impacted.
* Areas of blowing snow will limit visibility... especially in
open country tonight and Wednesday. Near blizzard conditions
will be possible closer to Lake Michigan. Use caution if you
must travel tonight and Wednesday.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
* a Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter
weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant
amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous.
