Areal Flood Warning
Statement as of 12:49 PM EDT on April 16, 2014

...Flood Warning remains in effect for Mason...Osceola and lake counties until 330 PM EDT...

At 1243 PM EDT...local law enforcement and County officials reported that flooding was occurring throughout the warned area. Many secondary roads are still under water. Roadway repairs are ongoing. Small creeks and streams have peaked and are beginning a slow fall. Slow improvement will likely be seen over the next several days.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...Baldwin... Ludington...Reed City...Evart...freesoil...Irons...LeRoy...Luther... Marion...Ashton...Avondale...Highland...Ina...Little Manistee... Millerton...Park Lake...Peacock...Pisgah Heights...Tallman and Wiley.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from this storm will cause flooding of small creeks and streams...country roads...normally dry washes... as well as farmland along the banks of creeks and streams.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely.

The Flood Warning continues for the Muskegon river at Evart. * Until further notice. * At 10:45 am Wednesday the stage had crested at 16.0 feet. * Flood stage is 12.0 feet. * Record flooding is occurring and record flooding is forecast. * Forecast...the river is near its creset at 16.0 feet. The river will begin a slow fall later today and not fall below flood stage until next Wednesday. * Impact...at 14.5 feet...high water affects the sewage treatment plant.
