Moderate to heavy rain continuing over northern lower Michigan
along a warm front with rain amounts totaling up to 1.50 inches... may
lead to localized flooding and ponding on area roadways.

... Periods of heavy rain this afternoon through tonight...

Moderate rain is developing along a warm front draped across
northern Michigan. There will be periods of heavy rain and
possibly embedded thunderstorms throughout the afternoon hours.
Rain amounts of up to 1.50 inches over the next 18 hours may lead
to localized flooding and ponding on area roadways.

... Record daily maximum rainfall set at the NWS office near Gaylord
and at the Gaylord regional Airport...

A record rainfall of 0.78 inch was set at the NWS office near
Gaylord yesterday. This breaks the old record of 0.6 set in 2012.

A record rainfall of 1.03 inches was set at the Gaylord regional
Airport yesterday. This breaks the old record of 0.63 set in 1986.

... Frost/freeze program to start for eastern Upper Michigan on may 27th...

Beginning on may 27th... NWS Gaylord will begin issuing frost
advisories and freeze warnings for eastern Upper Michigan. The NWS
began it's frost/freeze program for northern lower Michigan
several weeks ago.

The National Weather Service provides these advisories and
warnings each year during the growing season. They are intended
for people who may wish to take action to protect their sensitive
plants from the effects of cold temperatures.
