Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 12:25 PM CDT on April 16, 2014

...Winter Storm Warning now in effect until 2 PM EDT /1 PM CDT/ Thursday...

Hazardous weather...

* heavy and wet snow has moved into western Upper Michigan. The snow will then continue heavy at times through tonight before diminishing late Thursday morning.

* Expect snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches today...with the heaviest amounts over Gogebic County. Additional snow accumulations tonight into Thursday morning of 8 to 11 inches are expected. Storm total accumulations will be over one foot over most of western Upper Michigan.

* Patchy blowing and drifting snow is possible along the Lake Superior shoreline tonight into Thursday morning.

Impacts...

* roads will become snow covered and slippery into Thursday morning. Persons planning on traveling should be prepared for dangerous Road conditions.
