moving north across the same area of east central and southeastern
New Hampshire and the western most portions of southwest Maine.
Rainfall of 1 to 3 inches has fallen across much of this area over
the past 24 hours. Heavy showers and thunderstorms will continue to
move across this area through the evening hours. Rainfall may exceed
an inch an hour with total rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches likely
in some areas and even locally higher amounts possible.
This much rainfall will cause small streams to leave their banks.
Ponding of water on roads... especially at intersections and
underpasses... will lead to localized flooding.
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

northwestern Oxford County in western Maine...
Coos County in northern New Hampshire...

* at 454 PM EDT Doppler radar showed heavy showers and thunderstorms
moving north across the same area of northern New Hampshire and the
western most portions of the foothills and mountains of western
Maine. Radar showed rainfall estimates of 1 to 2 inches so far this
afternoon. Heavy showers and thunderstorms will continue to move
across northern New Hampshire and extreme western Maine through the
rest of the afternoon and into the evening hours. Rainfall may
exceed an inch an hour with total rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches
possible in many areas into early this evening.
Additional rainfall is expected later in the evening hours and this
could push totals to over 4 inches in some areas of Coos County in
northern New Hampshire and much of northern and west central
portions of Franklin County in Maine.

... Flood Warning extended until Friday morning...
the Flood Warning continues for
the swift river at Roxbury.
* From late this evening until Friday morning.
* At 100 PM Thursday the stage was 5.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
* The river is expected to steady off at around 5.0
feet... and then rise this evening in response to rainfall
moving into the region this afternoon. The river is expected
to crest at arount 9.0 fee around midnight... falling below
flood stage early tomorrow.
