* Flood Warning for... Kennebec County in south central Maine... southeastern Somerset County in west central Maine... Lincoln County in south central Maine...
* until 1145 am EST
* at 645 am EST... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated that the heaviest rain has exited the warned area. However... some rivers are still rising... while others are just cresting. The runoff from the heavy rain last night is still entering small rivers... creeks and streams... and additional flooding is possible. Also... there is still quite a bit of standing water on roads due to the heavy rainfall.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on small creeks and streams... and ponding of water in urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage areas and low lying spots.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. Move to higher ground.
A Flood Warning means flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges... dips... or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream... even a small one... on foot. To escape rising water move up to higher ground.
