Statement as of 10:06 PM EDT on July 11, 2009 ... Strong thunderstorms will impact Androscoggin County... Kennebec County... Somerset County and Franklin County through 1100 PM EDT... At 1005 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a cluster of showers and strong thunderstorms with heavy rain centered over Jay... moving northeast at 40 mph. This cluster of showers and strong thunderstorms will affect areas in and around Livermore Falls... Jay... Wilton... East Wilton... Temple... Chesterville... Vienna... Farmington... New Sharon and Starks through 1100 PM EDT. Small hail... cloud-to-ground lightning and gusty winds to 35 mph can be expected. In addition... as much as one inch of rain may fall in less than 30 minutes. This much rain can result in localized street flooding... as well as flooding in the low lying areas.
