The National Weather Service in Gray Maine has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
northwestern Somerset County in west central Maine...

* until 145 am EDT

* at 1050 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms tracking through Central Somerset County. This may
cause minor flooding near and to the north of Jackman.

* Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Jackman... Seboomook... Parlin Pond... Plymouth... Taunton and Raynham
Academy Grant... Long Pond... Moose River... misery... Chase stream...
Pittston Academy Grant... Rockwood strip... Brassua... tomhegan...
Johnson Mountain... Sandy Bay... Alder Brook... town of Thorndike...
Indian stream... Sandwich Academy Grant and Soldiertown.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... as well as farm and country roads. Do not
attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across
flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few inches of
swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.
