Winter Storm Watch | |

Statement as of 3:19 AM EST on December 08, 2009 ... Winter Storm Watch in effect from Wednesday morning through late Wednesday night... The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Storm Watch... which is in effect from Wednesday morning through late Wednesday night. Across the foothills of western Maine... snow is expected to develop during the morning hours Wednesday... and fall heavily at times into Wednesday evening. Sleet or freezing rain may mix with the snow at times in the afternoon... and more than 6 inches of snow is possible before any mix. As the precipitation becomes lighter Wednesday night... it may fall in the form of rain... .freezing rain or sleet. This will depend on surface temperatures... but little additional snowfall is expected after Wednesday evening. A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts. |
