* at 446 PM EDT... heavy rain was streaming into the Moosehead Lake
region.
The heaviest precipitation was from southwestern most Piscataquis
County to Moosehead Lake where precipitation amounts range from 1.08
inches in Kingsbury to 1.01 inches in Greenville. Rainfall of this
intensity will cause ponding of water on roadways and other areas of
poor drainage. Small streams and Brooks will continue to rise and
possibly exceed their banks.

through Friday evening...
The Flood Watch continues for
* portions of north central Maine... northern Maine and west
central Maine... including the following areas... in north
central Maine... central Piscataquis... northern Piscataquis and
southern Piscataquis. In northern Maine... Northwest Aroostook.
In west central Maine... northern Somerset.
* Through Friday evening
* expect up to 2 to 3 inches of rain to fall across the watch
area from tonight into Friday with locally higher amounts
possible.
* Heavy rain will cause area streams... Brooks and many of the
smaller and faster responding rivers to rise and possibly exceed
their banks. No flooding is expected on larger rivers at this
time however even larger rivers are expected to rise several
feet.
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
