... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 1 am Saturday to 1 am EST
Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Caribou has issued a Winter Storm
Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect from 1 am Saturday to
1 am EST Sunday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

* Locations... Hancock County.

* Hazard types... snow and blowing snow late tonight through
Saturday evening.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 8 to 16 inches in a narrow
band along the coast and Penobscot Bay. Amounts will likely drop
off considerably away from the coast and Penobscot Bay.

* Timing... late tonight to Saturday night.

* Impacts... locally heavy snowfall and areas of blowing snow will
result in difficult driving conditions.

* Winds... northeast 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Temperatures... highs in the lower 20s on Saturday... dropping
into the single digits above zero Saturday night.

* Visibilities... one quarter mile or less at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
