A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 PM EST this evening.
Snow will expand south across the region through the rest of the afternoon and evening. Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are expected through the evening. Storm total snow accumulations of 8 to 12 inches are expected from north of Greenville to Kokadjo... with locally greater totals possible. Storm total accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are expected across the rest of central Piscataquis County. Storm total accumulations across southern Piscataquis County are expected to range from 2 to 6 inches.
Monitor the latest forecasts... since any deviation in the forecast axis of the heaviest snow can result in a sharp variation in the heaviest snow amounts.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
This storm will have a high impact on the warning area. Heavy snowfall across the region will frequently limit visibilities to less than one half mile for an extended period of time. As a result travel will be difficult at times.
