flooding. Average rainfall amounts around an inch are expected,
however localized amounts in excess of 3 inches are possible in
heavier thunderstorms. Rainfall rates near 2 inches per hour are
expected in heavier thunderstorms. If the storm drains become
clogged, this will likely enhance the local flooding on the
roadways.

to a rapid rise of water to dangerous levels. Flash flooding is a
very dangerous situation.

Statement as of 7:54 PM EDT on June 01, 2015

... A line of strong thunderstorms with heavy rain heading
toward the coast...

At 751 PM EDT... a line of strong thunderstorms was along a line
extending from Bass River State Forest to near Port Norris to 6 miles
southwest of fortesque to Tanyard... and moving east at 25 mph.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms... and may
cause flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning
can strike 15 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter
inside a building or vehicle.

Wind gusts to around 30 mph and small hail are possible with these
storms.
