Coastal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 9:54 AM EST on November 14, 2009
... Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST this
evening...
A coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST this
evening.
A north wind will continue today... and water will not be able to
drain from the northern Chesapeake Bay area during the next few
days. As a result... minor tidal flooding is expected around the
times of high tide today. This advisory may need to be extended in
time if additional minor tidal flooding looks likely.
High tide along the upper eastern Maryland shore occurs later this
afternoon and into early this evening.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
Do not drive through flood waters... the water may be deeper than
you think it is.
