A coastal Flood Watch remains in effect from Friday morning through late Friday night. Low pressure off the Carolina coast will continue to intensify... resulting in a prolonged onshore flow through Friday night. Tidal anomalies of 2 to 3 feet early Thursday morning will increase by Friday as water builds in the Chesapeake Bay. By Friday morning... moderate flooding will be possible. Here are the times of the next high tides for a few locations from north to south... on the Chesapeake Bay... Havre de Grace... 6:11 PM and 6:16 am... Fort McHenry Baltimore... 2:58 PM and 3:03 am... Annapolis U.S. Naval Academy... 1:28 PM and 1:33 am... Solomons Island... 10:25 PM and 11:19 am... Point Lookout... 9:35 PM and 10:29 am... Now along the Potomac River... Alexandria... 4:33 PM and 5:00 am... Indian Head... 4:01 PM and 4:28 am... Goose Bay... 12:07 PM and 12:34 am... Wicomico river near Cobb Island... 8:33 PM and 9:13 am... 1115 am EST Thu Nov 12 2009 ... Flood Watch remains in effect through late Friday night... The Flood Watch continues for * portions of Maryland and central Virginia... including the following areas... in Maryland... Anne Arundel... Calvert... Charles... Prince Georges and St. Marys. In central Virginia... King George. * Through late Friday night * prolonged periods of light to moderate rain will continue through Friday night and compound existing issues with flooded creeks and roadways. * Flooded roadways and creeks Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings.
