The Flood Watch continues for * portions of southern Maryland and central Virginia... including the following areas... in southern Maryland... Calvert... Charles and St. Marys. In central Virginia... King George. * Until 6 am EST Friday * prolonged periods of light to moderate rain will continue through tonight and may cause small creeks to overflow into roadways * flooded roadways and creeks Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. 958 PM EST Thu Nov 12 2009 ... Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 6 am EST Friday... ... Coastal Flood Watch remains in effect from 6 am EST Friday through late Friday night... A coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 6 am EST Friday. A coastal Flood Watch remains in effect from 6 am EST Friday through late Friday night. Moderate tidal flooding is expected along the Shores of Calvert and Saint Marys counties overnight. Tidal departures around 3 feet above normal can be expected. Communities around Coltons Point and Saint Georges island in St Marys... and low lying areas around Solomons Island in Calvert are some of the locations expected to have significant flooding impacts. Flooding impacts will likely persist during times of high tide into the weekend. Here are the times of the next high tides for a few locations from north to south... on the Chesapeake Bay... Solomons Island... 10:25 PM and 11:19 am... Point Lookout... 9:35 PM and 10:29 am... Now along the Potomac River... Wicomico river near Cobb Island... 9:13 am and 9:29 PM...
