... Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 11 PM EST
Friday...
A coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 11 PM EST Friday.
With high pressure to our north and low pressure to our south...
a strong and persistent northeast flow is expected across the
mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. As a result... tidal departures will
continue to increase across the Maryland Eastern Shore. For overnight
tonight... minor tidal flooding is expected. For Friday afternoon...
widespread minor with some moderate tidal flooding is expected.
For Cambridge... Maryland... high tide occurs at 1221 am with a
forecast height around 3.5 feet MLLW. For Friday afternoon... the
high tide is at 115 PM with a forecast height of 4.0 to 4.5 feet
MLLW.
For Tolchester Beach... Maryland... high tide occurs at 321 am with
a forecast height around 3 feet MLLW. For Friday afternoon... the
high tide is at 415 PM with a forecast height of around 4.0 MLLW.
Conditions are forecast to improve gradually over the weekend.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A coastal Flood Warning means that flooding is occurring or
imminent. Coastal residents in the warned area should be alert
for rising water and take appropriate action to protect life and
property.
Do not park your vehicle in a location that is prone to tidal
flooding. Also... avoid roadways that are prone to tidal flooding.
