Patchy fog was developing as a cool airmass reaches saturation early this morning amid radiational cooling. Fog may be expected in north central and southern Maryland...northern Virginia...the Potomac Highlands and Panhandle of West Virginia...the Shenandoah Valley and the central foothills. Visibilities of three to five miles will be common in foggy areas...with localized reductions to one mile or lower. Motorists should exercise caution in foggy areas...and use low beam headlights for best visibility.
