These winds will push water from the Bay inland...with flooding possible once high tide comes. New rainfall will be around a quarter inch through noon.

At 1022 am EST... radar indicated a band of heavy rain across southern and central St Marys County and far southern calvery County... embedded in moderate rain across southern Maryland. This rain is in addition to the two to four inches of rainfall that has occurred in this area.
Another two to three inches of rain will be possible before the rain ends this weekend... exacerbating any Road flooding.
Some locations that will continue to be affected by the heavy... wind driven rain rain include California... Hollywood... Leonardtown... Park Hall... Saint Marys City... Saint Leonard creek and Patuxent River naval air base.
A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported. Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected. However... all interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

Low pressure off the Carolina coast will continue to intensify resulting in a prolonged onshore flow through Friday night. Tidal anomalies of 2 to 3 feet early Thursday morning will increase by Friday. Consequently... minor flooding can be expected during high tide today. Beginning tonight... minor flooding may be a bit more prolonged... with moderate flooding possible by Friday.
Once the timing of moderate flooding becomes more certain... a coastal Flood Warning will be required.

As strong northeast winds develop today... occasional wind gusts around 50 mph can be expected... mainly along the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Winds will gradually diminish this evening.
