These storms will be affecting the Interstate 95 corridor from Newburyport to the Boston Providence Metro areas as well as much of the remainder of Rhode Island between now and 1145 PM. The heaviest rains appear to be tracking toward bostons southwest suburbs into much of northern and central Rhode Island.
For your safety... get inside when these storms approach. Heavy rain may cause minor street flooding as well as ponding of water in poor drainage areas. Do not drive through flooded areas.
Several storms are producing cloud to ground lightning strikes. Get indoors or inside a vehicle now! If you are caught outside... stay away from isolated tall objects such as trees. Avoid open areas such as Golf courses or Ball fields.
