A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 1 PM EST this afternoon.
Strong low pressure move across northern New England today. Southerly winds will increase to 20 to 30 mph early this morning and potentially gust up to 50 mph. A cold front will move across southern New England by mid morning and this may allow for a brief period of southwesterly wind gusts around 50 mph for the majority of southern New England. It/S possible that a few damaging wind gusts could occur in heavy showers or thunderstorms.

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be 31 to 39 mph or gusts will range between 46 and 57 mph. Winds this strong are capable of Downing small tree limbs and branches... possibly causing isolated power outages. Driving can also be difficult... especially for high profile vehicles.

At 828 am EST National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a squall line with some embedded thunder possible... with the potential to produce wind gusts to 50 mph over Warren... or about 18 miles southeast of Amherst... moving northeast at 70 mph.
