... The Flood Warning has been cancelled for eastern Worcester County
in central Massachusetts... and Middlesex... Suffolk... Norfolk and
Essex counties in eastern Massachusetts... and Bristol and Plymouth
counties in southeast Massachusetts...
At 715 PM EDT Thursday rivers continue to fall and most small rivers
in eastern Massachusetts have fallen into minor flood. Therefore
the Flood Warning for much of eastern Massachusetts has been
cancelled. All of the small rivers have crested and most are in
minor flood... however... impacts on area roads may still be seen
until these rivers fall below flood stage. Use caution when
traveling near small streams and rivers and never drive into an area
where water covers the Road.
New flood warnings have been issued for Essex... Bristol... and
Plymouth counties where the Ipswich and Taunton rivers remain in
moderate flood. Please see the latest flood warnings for more
information on these rivers.
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway... including underpasses. The water may be too deep to allow
vehicles to cross safely... or the roadway may be undermined.
A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. If you
are in the warning area move to higher ground immediately. Residents
living near streams and creeks should take immediate action to
protect life and property. Do not attempt to cross flooded areas by
foot or in your vehicle.
