Through 8 PM...a few showers and strong thunderstorms will develop and move southwest at 10 mph across portions of southeast Texas...as well southwest and south central Louisiana. The strongest storms will be located over Beauregard and Calcasieu parishes...roughly from Singer to de Quincy to the Westlake and Sulphur areas. Frequent lightning...wind gusts to 25 mph...and heavy rainfall with rates around one inch per hour will be possible in these areas. Elsewhere...a few showers and thunderstorms will move southwest at 10 knots over the coastal waters 20 to 30 nm offshore between Marsh Island and the lower Atchafalaya River.
