The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect from 3 PM Friday to midnight CST Friday night.
Areas of light rain mixed with light snow will move into northcentral Louisiana by mid afternoon Friday... and change over to all snow by late afternoon or early evening. Snowfall accumulations of a half inch to one inch... will be possible mainly south of a Campti Louisiana... to Dodson and Columbia line... with snowfall totals of an inch to isolated two inches possible south of a Natchitoches to Olla Louisiana line. The snow will quickly end from west to east by midnight Friday night.
Travelers are urged to use extreme caution late Friday afternoon and night... as surface temperatures will begin to fall below freezing. A brief period of snow accumulation may occur on elevated Road surfaces such as bridges and overpasses Friday evening... and could freeze into black ice overnight... making travel very hazardous Friday night and Saturday morning.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.

..scattered snow expected Friday afternoon and Friday night for areas mainly south of i20...
A strong upper level storm system will move across the four state region Friday... and Friday night. With a cold airmass established over the region... the potential exists for areas of snow to develop... mainly during the late afternoon and evening hours Friday and Friday night.
The greatest potential for snow will be in an area extending from deep East Texas... through central Louisiana... basically south of Interstate 20.
Locations along a Lufkin Texas... Natchitoches Louisiana... to Jena Louisiana line... have the best chance at having some accumulation of snow... with up to an inch possible.
Flurries and some light snow will be possible along and just north of Interstate 20.
