Flood Warning
Statement as of 7:54 PM CST on November 15, 2009
The Flood Warning continues for
the Mississippi River at Red River Landing.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 6:00 PM Sunday the stage was 51.3 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* The flood stage is 48.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is expected to continue falling to a stage of
50.8 feet by Tuesday morning.
* Impact... at 51.0 feet... all river islands along The Reach from Red
River Landing to Baton Rouge will be inundated. Recreational camps
and river bottom farm land will be under water.
Dense Fog Advisory
Statement as of 12:13 PM CST on November 16, 2009
... Dense fog advisory now in effect until 8 am CST this morning...
Fog will begin to develop late this evening with dense fog likely
before daybreak. Visibilities will drop below a quarter of a mile
at times creating hazardous driving conditions. Fog will begin to
improve after sunrise.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down...
use your low beam headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead
of you.
